The programmer is tasked with the job of administering the Turing test to highly advanced humanoid A.I.

The Turing test is the test to determine the machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human. With the task at hand, the Programmer Caleb Smith played by Domhnall Gleeson must determine if the Ava the Humanoid played by Alicia Vikander is capable of thought and consciousness despite knowing she is artificial.

This is one of the best thriller movies with a sci-fi touch where the line between man and machine becomes unclear.

The story follows a hunter and Texas welder who finds two million dollars in a violent drug exchange that killed everyone. Chaos ensues when a psychopathic killer leaves a trail of blood to find the money around the 1980’s Texas desert landscape.

The movie is a cat and mouse chase that leads to mayhem and violence all along the way throughout the movie. The movie explores greed, fate, and human nature when presented with a situation where each decision you make can lead to a life and death situation. The movie has won four Oscars in the 80th Academy awards including the best picture.

This is one of the best Hollywood crime thriller movies as you are always on the edge of the seats trying to figure out what will happen next.

This 2014 thriller is directed by David Fincher with a screenplay by Gillian Flynn starring Ben Affleck, and Rosamund Pike in lead roles. The story follows the Nick Dunne played by Ben Affleck becomes the prime suspect when wife Amy played by Rosamund Pike suddenly disappears without any clue.

This David Fincher thriller explores relationship and trust while uncovering lies, strange behavior, and how media frenzy affects the truth with everyone asking the same dark question of what the mystery behind the disappearance. This is one of the best mystery thriller movies with a straight forward story where the audiences don’t have to do research and find the explanation to the movie.

Momento is the mystery thriller film based on Jonathan Nolan's short story ‘Memento Mori’. This 2000 movie was written and directed by Christopher Nolan that follows Guy Pearce a man suffering from anterograde amnesia. As a result, he cannot form new memories and has memory loss every fifteen minutes.

The movie follows Guy Pearce trying to find the people who are responsible for his condition and killed his wife, with the help of Polaroid photographs and tattoos to keep track of the information. With a nonlinear narrative structure, this is the movie that brought Christopher Nolan to the forefront of the film industry.

The movie is presented in a different style with black and white scenes and colored scenes stitched together. With black and white being the current sequence of events and colored sequences are shown in the reverse order where the truth is revealed in the final scene.

One of the unique and best Hollywood thrillers ever made where only the last scene reveals the truth behind his life.

The movie is a cat and mouse chase with time travel that explores the effects of time travel in a mind-bending, surprising as well a unique way. The time-traveling agent on a pursuit to disarm a bomb gets his face burnt only to be helped by someone who transports him to the future. The movie is a tale of fate, love, and the dos and don’ts of time travel.

Predestination is one of the best thriller movies that are intriguing, mind-bending, and suspenseful until the very end.

Skilled in the art of extraction of secrets deep within the subconscious the thief must pull off a new mission that is not to steal an idea but to plant one. The movie won four Academy Awards that has a star-studded cast where each of them becomes a part of a more complex and multi-layered story.

Inception is one of the best Action thriller movies of the 21st century and a must-watch for all movie enthusiasts.

Willis determined to help the boy as he is the only hope and doesn’t want the kid to end up like his Ex patient who killed himself after shooting Willis. Shyamalan is known for his surprise endings and this established him as a writer and director to the public and this is expected from all his movies. The movie was the second highest-grossing movie of the year and was nominated for six Academy Awards.

The story follows the detective in search of the serial killers whose murders are inspired by the biblical descriptions of seven deadly sins.

Detective David Mills played by Brad Pitt along with a soon to be retiring William Somerset played by Morgan Freeman must track down on the serial killer before its too late. With each killing representing a deadly sin, the movie doesn’t hold back on the violence and gives a brooding, dark, and brutal theme throughout the movie.

This is one of the best thriller movies with elements of crime and investigation that makes the audience flinch with each murder.

The movie follows Teddy Daniels played by DiCaprio investigates the missing patients from the psychiatric facility on Shutter Island after along with his partner played by Mark Ruffalo.

On the investigation of the disappearance of the murderer from the hospital of criminally insane, he comes across Ben Kingsley lead psychiatrist of the facility. Upon investigation, it becomes clearer that there is some mysterious activity going inside shutter island and everything might not as normal as it seems.

With Martin Scorsese behind the camera it is expected to be brilliant and one of the best thriller movies of this generation.

The remaining survivors are forced underground and a mysterious group going by the name of 12 monkeys is believed to be behind the origin of the virus.

James Cole played by Bruce Willis is living beneath the Philadelphia ruins as a prisoner and is tasked with the job of finding the original virus by traveling back in time to help scientists developing a cure. Cole is transported to the year 1990, six years before the start of the outbreak, and gets imprisoned in a psychiatric facility. Cole must find the source of the virus and stop the outbreak before it is too late.

This is one of the best sci-fi thriller movies of the last generation with an amazing cast, storyline, and mind-blowing plot twists.

Francis Costello a mob boss played by Nicholson plants a mole within the State Police department just to find out there is an undercover state trooper infiltrated Costello's crew. This begins the trilling and tense journey for each of them to discover the other's identity before they are captured. With both being deeply consumed by the double life they lead it becomes the fight of survival to expose the other before it is over.

With this Martin Scorsese marked his return to movies after the likes of Goodfellas and his best thriller movie keeping his signature style and tension.

The simple jewelry heist goes wrong as the police show up on time resulting in a shootout that kills two. Panic sets in as the surviving criminals start to suspect that one of them might be the police informant. Chaos ensues as they meet at the rendezvous point and tries to find the one responsible for the heist going bad.

This R rated movie is regarded as a cult classic film that brought Quentin Tarantino to the forefront of the movie industry. This is one of the best crime thriller movies of the last generation with graphic violence and dark tone throughout the movie.

Upon interrogation, Kint tells the story and events that led up to the scene of the crime as ordered by Keyser Söze a crime lord who controls them.

Five criminals are arrested as none of them are guilty they plan on a revenge operation against the police who had brought together for questioning. The operation results in the loss of 27 lives a boat explosion, and police are in search of a legendary mastermind criminal called Keyser Söze.

This is one of the best crime thriller movies of the last generation with interesting narrative choices and experiments in storytelling throughout the movie.

The story follows the missing of Keller Dover’s daughter and her friend. Keller played by Hugh jackman takes matters into his own hands when the police pursue multiple leads.

With every passing second leading to a life and death situation the movie builds the pressure on its characters as well as its viewers. As the pressure mounts to find the suspected abductor we realize just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family.

This mystery drama is one of the best thriller movies of recent times that Hollywood has to offer to keep the audiences on the edge of their seats with the hope of finding the missing children.
